Guest Policies

Welcome to Montclair Golf Club! We hope you will enjoy your experience with us—whether you are playing one of our golf courses, perfecting your swing on one of our tennis or paddle courts, taking a dip in our pool or enjoying a meal with friends. To help make the most of your visit, please review the guest policies outlined below prior to your arrival.

To ensure an enjoyable round for all, please observe all Club rules while on our golf courses. Adhere to cart rules, posted at the Starter's booth and the 1st tee of each nine. Keep golf carts at least 30 feet from tees, greens and bunkers, except where the area is serviced by a paved road or as otherwise posted. Do not take golf carts to the range.

Replace divots, repair ball marks and rake bunkers. Unless otherwise posted, U.S.G.A. rules govern play. Local rules are listed on the score card.

To maintain our country club environment, we maintain specific rules on dress for each activity. Locker rooms are provided for members and guests for changing shoes and other attire. Please note that changing of footwear in the parking lot is strictly prohibited and hats and caps, where permitted, must be worn facing forward.

Clubhouse Dress Code
Country Club casual is an appropriate dress code at all times. For men and boys, that is defined as tucked-in collared shirts, turtlenecks, long sleeve mock turtleneck with 1½” collar and slacks or knee-length shorts and shoes. Women and girls are asked to adhere to a similar standard of dress.

NOTE: Men are required to wear jackets on Saturday evenings after 6pm in the Fairway Room, March 28 through December 31.

Golf, paddle and tennis attire, including footwear, is permitted in the Clubhouse during the respective seasons until 6pm. However, cargo pants or shorts, t-shirts, athleisure wear and untucked shirts are not permitted.

Dress denim is permitted inside the Clubhouse Tuesday through Friday only. Exceptions to this policy will be made for certain Club events and on some holidays, which will be pre-announced and included online for each event registration. It may also be worn on the West and North porches, at the Pro Shops, pool, tennis pavilion, paddle hut, and walkways and driveways to and from the Clubhouse, Tuesday through Friday. Participants of those activities, including golf and racquet sports, may not wear dress denim at any time. Click here to view examples of acceptable dress denim as well as examples of denim that will not be allowed on property at any time.

Hats related to sports attire (i.e. golf and tennis caps) are permitted in the locker rooms, but nowhere else inside the Clubhouse. These hats may also be worn on the West and North Porches up to 6pm.

Flip-flops are not acceptable footwear except for going to/from and in the locker rooms and pool area. Sneakers (except as related to golf, paddle and tennis attire) are not acceptable footwear to be worn in the Clubhouse.
